We are very excited to offer a 5 day Art and Science camp for kids age 5 to 10. This will be a fun hands-on experience. We will be doing a variety of projects covering life and microorganisms, physics, geology and chemistry. We will: make electrical circuits, make a lemon battery, culture algae, identify fossils and make our own fossil, make cyanotype prints, extract chlorophyll, explore fluorescence, make a thermometer, experiment with a marshmallow in a vacuum and more. Each day will consist of science experiments, art projects and dance choreography capturing the scientific concept covered that day.

About Aga Pinowska
Aga Pinowska is a scientist and works at Global Algae Innovations. As a mom of two daughters, she enjoys teaching science to kids. She has a Ph.D. in Biology and M.S. in Environmental Science. Aga taught biology in high school and in college, and she mentored many undergraduate students through science research projects. On Kauai she taught an art class for preschoolers and a science summer camp at KUGA arts in 2018. She is very excited to have the opportunity to work with kids again this summer. Aga believes that hands-on experience with science is the only way to get kids excited about STEM. Her research expertise is in microalgae, growing algae for biofuels and products, and in using microalgae to assess water quality.
